"Stop it, Leo. There's no need for you to do this, and I know Austin means much more to you than I do," I averted my gaze from him, feeling an odd mixture of emotions in this moment, even though deep down, I knew it was wrong.

"I never said he wasn't important, nor am I suggesting that I want him dead. It's entirely up to you if you want him gone, but that doesn't mean it's what I desire. I already made a promise to do whatever you ask of me, so think twice before making your request," he gently caressed my cheek with his knuckles, treating me with an unexpected tenderness that made me feel fragile, like a porcelain doll.
