“What are you doing?” I flinched at Clairmont’s voice calling me from beside me.

“Uhm…” I dithered, before shooting him a nervous glance. “It’s nothing.” Then I broke into a nervous grin.

Clairmont heaved a long sigh and shifted his gaze forward. The two of us then went silent after that short interaction.

The rising sun shone brightly upon the pavement path outside. Given its degree of intensity, which isn’t that hot, a lot of people went out from their homes and began their day, adventurers looking for quests, merchants opening their stores, hawkers selling their goods. Even inside the guild building, it was filled with the hustle and bustle of the people around.
