“Alana and your children are no longer alive, Kai. I am responsible for their demise." Klaus’s voice was self-satisfied, his lips curling into a cruel smile as he looked at me.

I felt a surge of shock and disbelief, my heart pounding in my chest. My hands clenched into fists, blood dripping from my palms. However, I refused to let him see my pain. I hardened my expression, my eyes aflame with hatred.

“Liar,” I hissed, “you’re a lying bastard. You will pay for everything you’ve done. Your life will be the price.”

“Oh, but I’m not. I can still hear their screams echoing in my head. Alana didn’t just beg for mercy, you know. She cried and whimpered your name like a terrified child, clinging to the hope that you would come to her rescue. But you were too late, brother.
