Bryce Is Mine

*****Louisiana's POV****

I marched out of Bryce's office in anger. I can't believe that he would ask me to leave just like that.

This is a man I knew cared for me. How the hell did he change so much within three years?

I know I made a mistake, but that was all but a mistake. And by the way, it was his fault. If only he had been there for me, I wouldn't have gotten myself into the mess I got into.

So, why can't he see past my fault and accept me back? A tear escaped my eyes, so I quickly wiped it off and marched out of the company's building. I need to clear my head. I can't believe I had been preparing to see him over a week after I got hold of his company's address. And then, when I thought everything was going to work out fine, I ended up being rejected like this?

Getting into my car, I pulled up my hair and held it in a ponytail. Putting my hands on the steering wheel, I thought of where to go to, in order to clear my thoughts.

Just then, I remembered just where to be. Immediately, I dialed a number on my phone.

“Trish, can we meet in LAX?” I asked my childhood friend.

“Yea, sure. I'll be there in a couple of minutes,” Trust said excitedly at the other end of the phone.

With that, I started my car and drove down to the club, since it was evening already.

An Hour Later*****

“What? You don't mean it. Bryce actually asked you to leave his office?”

I took a sip of the wine in my hand before taking my gaze at a surprised looking Trish.

“It's shocking, right? That was how shocked I was when he actually asked me to leave. I never expected that he would actually say that to me. I mean, we've been together for a while, and he said he forgave me, so why the fuck did he have to chase me away like some cheap tramp!”

“Oh no! Bryce wouldn't have done that to you. You know what I think, friend?”

I quickly raised my gaze to Trish.

“I think there's a woman in his life.”

“Huh? You think so?”

“I don't just think so, I know so. This is what happens when a man finds someone new. I think he's in love with someone new.”

My heart sunk at that very moment. The mere thought of him having someone messed up with my head big time.

How could this be?

“It's not true.”

“What? It's not true? Why do you think that way? Don't tell me you still think Bryce still has you at heart.”

“He does. Have you forgotten that I've been in love with him since we were kids? He was my first love, Trish.”

“And no one knows that better than me. I know just how much you adored him, trust me. But currently, I don't think it's okay for you to keep him in your heart still. You have to move on, girl. You're beautiful, and I can see just his many guys are staring at you right at this very moment.”

I reluctantly looked around me, and Trish wasn't wrong. There were countless men at the club looking in my direction.

But yet, I found no one attractive in all of them.

“You know this wouldn't work for me, Trish, I feel nothing for them, so just stop trying to link me up with any of these men.”

“Oh my, that isn't what I'm trying to do, girl. Don't get me wrong, please. I, of all people, want the best for you. I know you don't see anyone that interests you at this moment, but then I think you should really give yourself a chance.”

“The only person I want in my life currently is no one else but Bryce. You know I can't move on from him. If that were possible, I should have given in to the guys I met back in Canada.”

“Oh my poor friend,” Trish stared at me with a sad expression.

“Is it really Bryce you want?”

I stared at my friend with a serious expression.

“It's him or no one else.”

“Okay, it's settled then. And as your friend, I can't just sit in the corner. I think it's time for me to help you out.”

“You can do that?”

“But of course I can. I promised to help you, remember?”

I smiled at Trish. Ever since we were little, Trish has always done her best to make sure that I was always happy. I can't love her less for always reaching out to me.

“Thank you so much, Trish.”

“You are welcome, love, but then, I think I'll only need this gratitude after I'm done helping you.”

That made me chuckle hard.

“For real?”

“Of course, when have I ever joked about things like this?”

“So, what do you have in mind?” I asked.

“Well, firstly, we need to find out what is keeping him busy. If we could find that out, I can say that our problem is half way solved. But then, my hope is, whatever that is keeping him busy shouldn't have anything to do with a woman because that, my dear, will be so hard to solve.”

“If it's a woman, then I guess I'll have to find out what she has exactly that makes her worthy of Bryce and not me.”

“Fair enough. That would be better. But I have a quick question for you, though, Louisa.”

“Ask away.”

“If it so happens that the person in question is a woman, what would you do? Will you let go?”

“Let go? Why should I let go? I need to find out every detail of the lady. Listen, Bryce is mine, I cannot let another take possession of him. He's mine and that cannot be argued.”

“I'm glad to know that you are willing to fight for your man. However, if it ever comes to that, I think we should thread carefully. This way, we won't be found out.”

“Trust me Trish, this is very important to me, and I cannot afford to lose him for any reason.”

Bryce might have told me that he didn't want me, but that doesn't mean I will give up. I know just how much I fought for him to finally notice me. I'm willing to put in all of my efforts to make him mine this time as well.
