Chapter Fifty-eight ~Fire Outbreak~

I caught Nancy sitting among her bunch of friends watching me and Gwen walk into the cafeteria. I stared back without breaking contact until she lowered her gaze. Envy was written all over her face.

"Are you okay?" Gwen asked after I paused for a minute.

"Yeah. I am." I dragged her to get our lunch.

With our lunch served, I pulled her towards where the boys sat but she hesitated. Gwen didn't want to sit with them.

"You wouldn't be sitting alone to eat anymore. You eat with me now."

"But, you know they don't like me."

"You aren't coming with me to impress them. You're doing this to break out of your shell."

"But—"

"No buts. Just pretend this is also part of your training."

Gwen exhales, then nods her head and slowly walks by my side.

Gwen and I dropped our tray on the table and pulled out the chairs to sit on.

"You know, in a few months the rest of us will have mates to cling to." Orion glared at me. "What little chit-chat were you guys having over there? Could you tell us?"
