Chapter ten

Devlin POV

I didn’t know what got into me. I didn’t know what pushed me to the verge of giving in to my rage. I didn’t just stop there, I choked her to the wall, and now I had injured her.

My sharp claws dug in so deep, and I didn’t even realize it until I heard drops of blood on the floor. I cringed at the sight of it. Not only did I feel pain for seeing the cuts on her neck, but I also felt pain cursing through my veins due to the mate bond.

I didn’t even try to resist, knowing I deserved it all. I even wanted someone to punch me in the face as my senses seemed to be going out of control.

“Get out!” Sarah yelled at me from behind, and the urge to fight her back wasn’t there. I knew what I had done was wrong, so I could only tuck my head back in as I silently walked out of the place drowning in my thoughts.

I got out of the door, but my conscience didn’t let me walk far away. I wanted to stay around and make sure Elora was well.
