Chapter 23: SECRETS REVEALED 2

—Lena—

I put two fingers on her neck to check her pulse. At first I don't feel anything but then I feel a weak pulse and breathe a sigh of relief.

"Talk to me Lena, is she ok?" Killian asks with desperation in his voice.

I get up and turn to him. "She's fine, her pulse is weak but it's there, she's just going to need a lot of rest in order to get her strength back."

Relief washes over his face. "So she's ok? All the drugs have left her system?"

"I'll have to check her again when she's awake but I'm confident the tonic should have burnt all the drugs away."

"Thank the goddess." He goes to pick Adriana up but I step in front of him.

"You're injured, let Lachlan and Kate take care of her for now.She doesn't need to see you like this when she wakes up."

He looks like he's about to argue but then he steps aside for Lachlan to carry Adriana. Both Lachlan and Kate head inside the house.

I notice that Killian isn't healing as fast as he
