Chapter 37

Elizabeth’s POV

The first time I tried to walk inside the restricted room, Hogan was so mad; I thought he would kill me. Yet now, he opened it willingly and even invited me inside.

The small square room was simple. Wall was white but the window frames were dark red. There was a bed in the center, a cabinet in the corner, and a pile of boxes on the table next to the window.

Among these, Hogan was hiding a big part of his fear. And whatever it is, I shouldn’t dig up the memories unless he was ready to share them.

Well, coming here was a huge step towards his heart. ‘I wish I could know more.’

“I cleaned the bed,” Hogan said while standing behind me. “I changed the bedsheet and placed new pillows.”

The bed? I wasn’t worried about it at all. Looking around, the place was so clean, I knew Hogan came here from time to time to maintain the room. He probably did it while I wasn’t looking.

“You can sleep on the bed. I will sleep on the floor,” Hogan added.
