Sleeping Engagement

A small squeak of a branch being stepped on echoed, making Elinor stop in her tracks.

She scanned the dark forest ahead of her and saw nothing, not even a movement of a shadow, or the leaves. Everything looked just how they were, but deep inside, Elinor knows something is not quite right.

Breathing heavily, she looked over one of her shoulders slowly.

Once again, she did not find anything suspicious. But there is that feeling of uneasiness that Elinor could not just shake off.

She stood there contemplating her choices. Should she run back to Colin? Or should she keep on walking?

Ah! Bloody hell, whatever! She said to herself when her whole system regrets her decision to part with Colin.

She closed her eyes shut and then turned back around where she started, all the while cursing herself for being so stubborn.
