Chapter 15: Secretary?
The following day, as promised, Nicholas came to pick me up. Unfortunately he wasn't able to see my mom because she didn't return back yesterday, she must have slept at work or at a friend's house.
Verily I couldn't reach her on phone in time and when I eventually did she told me she was fine. She didn't mention her whereabout though, and I never really cared to ask so far she's safe and sound.
I prepared breakfast for both me and Nicholas, after which he drove us both to work. This time around I was conformable driving with him, and the rumblings of the engine of his L-spot didn't bother me like it used to.
With each u-turn made, I would glance at him. And with each word he uttered, I would found myself smiling and craving to hear more of his voice. What was wrong with me? What was with the sudden change in me?
