The walk back home was silent,leaves crunching beneath my boots being the only sound you could hear. Aside a few hoots here and there, rustling leaves and squirrels chasing each other over the branches, it was pretty much just me. Me and my thoughts.

My mind wandered back to what just happened. Did Nita really mean that? It wasn't my fault. I tried, tried everything in my power to prevent the whole situation from blowing up and that's all she had to say?

On one hand, I was inclined to be mad. But on the other hand, I kinda saw her point of view in all this. Her own perspective and the one thing that stood out was hurt. She was hurt that her opportunity was snatched away from her and she couldn't even do much. Nothing at all, to be honest. Still, that didn't give her a reason to be mad at me. It wasn't valid.
