Armando cleared his throat, and held my gaze. The anger dissipated from his eyes, some other emotion took over.

He took one of my hand and squeezed. “You scared me, Lucy. Last night I had thought I was going to lose another mate. I couldn't take you to the hospital to avoid police report and all , I had to call Danielle as soon as I got home, it was late into the night.
