CHAPTER SIX

“What the hell are you doing here?” I half-shouted at the man climbing towards my window. When he finally gets inside my room, I smacked his head.

“Harsh.” He groaned but then laugh after. He faced me and waved a brown envelope in front of my face.

“What’s that?”

“Your weapon.”

I scoff at his response. What? A weapon? Did he bring in some lethal things so I could get my revenge?

“Are you stupid?” I glared at him. If looks could kill, he’d probably be dead by now.

He shrugged and handed me the envelope, “Look at it,” Said Gin and sat on my bed as if nothing happened.

“I’ll look at it after you tell me what the hell and how did you get in here?” I put my right hand on my waist and raised an eyebrow at him.

“I sneak in of course.” He laid on the bed comfortably and closed his eyes, “It was a little difficult honestly.” He grumbled.

“No one asked you to come here, idiot.”

“You’re welcome.”

I closed the window when I felt a strong wind. When I looked outside, the sky is turning purple and red. I guess it’ll rain later. After locking it, I sat on my study table and opened up the short brown envelope this guy gave me.

My eyes widened in surprise when I saw what’s inside. My whole body quivered as I read each document. It was the truth I never knew. Is this why my sister hates me so much? But I still can’t understand and grasp the whole idea.

“H-how did you know I needed this?” I asked the man sleeping in my bed like a baby. He slowly opened his eyes and smirked at me.

“When your father called me and told me everything that happened when your sister came home.” He teased. I rolled my eyes. This guy’s attitude is not something I expected. I’ve heard from the rumours that he was formal and a man of few words but hearing him talk and act like that makes me rethink if he was really Gin, the smartest bachelor.

“And why are you helping me? Don’t tell me you’re worried?” I laughed and puts the documents back in the envelope. I need to hide this properly.

I opened the secret and small drawer I have under my table and laid the envelope there. No one knew this except my father.

“I need you.” The words of Gin appearing out of the blue struck me like thunder.

“What?” I quickly looked back at him. He was now sitting on the edge of my bed. His polo T-shirt is now crumpled and his hair is a mess but he still looks cute.

Wait, what? Am I out of my mind? This creepy guy just went into my house without notice and now I think he’s cute?

“I can offer you a deal.” He raised his eyebrows at me and clasped his hands together. The room seems to get closer even though I closed all of my windows.

“A deal?”

“I’ll help you achieve what you want and you give me money. Sounds fair right?” His eyes almost disappeared when he flashed that big smile of his.

What is this light I imagine coming from him? It almost looked like he’s literally shining because of that wide smile of his.

“Helped me?” I tch, “How will you even do that?”

He pointed to the floor under my study table where the secret drawer lies.

“That thing there was my idea.”

“Wha- So what?”

“Payment for that is 200 Million.”

“That expensive!? Also, I never ordered you to investigate my sister!“ I roared.

“Then give it back.” His smile disappeared and was replaced by a monotonic expression.

“Why you-“

A knock on the door made me freeze. Shit.

“Aren’t you going to -“ I quickly jumped on Gin when he started speaking.

“Shh!” I scowled at this dense guy who can’t read the room properly.

What would my family think if they saw this guy in my room? Worst, he came in using the windows! I can’t even think of a proper reason to tell them if they saw us.

“Miss? The dinner is ready.” An unfamiliar voice called out. I sighed in relief when I realize that it’s just a maid.

“I-I’ll go there later. Tell my dad that I’m still quite full!” I responded. I just hope they won’t notice my flustered tone.

“I understood miss.”

I stared at the door and waited for a few minutes to pass by, making sure that the maid is finally gone.

“I like the view,” Put forth Gin and that’s where I discerned the disturbing situation I created. I’m currently on top of him while I’m covering his mouth lightly.

I quickly rise up. I can feel myself blushing.

“D-Don’t get me wrong alright! I was just surprised!” I stuttered. Why am I getting nervous? It’s not like I intentionally throw myself at him. He’s acting carelessly that’s why I did that impulsively!

He tittered. It made me feel even more embarrassed.

Argh, dammit! He should be the one getting worked up after going into my room in a brash way.

“Think about my offer.” He suggested once again. This time, his voice is lower and he has a very serious look on his face.

“You’re such a pain!” I expressed my frustration to him, “Do you really need money that much?”

“Yes.”

I took a deep audible breath. I get it now. This man is desperate for money and this man is willing to do everything for it. He’s smart, witty and holds a strong will. It would be better to stay beside him and fight for my destiny than to face everything alone.

He gave me the answer to one of my biggest questions. To be honest I don’t think I would need June anymore. If I keep Gin by my side and we’ll come to an agreement of helping each other, maybe I’d have a higher survival rate.

“Fine. Deal.” I reached my hands to him.

His serious-grimmed face suddenly brightens up and held my hand to shake it, “Let’s work together now, wife.”

“What? Wife?”

“Yes.”

“Huh?”

“Ah, I don’t think you understand it yet. But let me tell you another secret,” He leaned in close to my left ear while still holding my right hand, “You sister likes me and in order to annoy her to death you must marry me.”

M – Marry?
