CHAPTER FIFTEEN

“A-Aw – hey, watch it, man!” Gin lets Van go soon after he shoves him inside the car.

I just shook my head in disbelief and at how much noise they are.

“Let’s go.” My reflexes went ahead of me.

When Gin was about to grab my hands, I quickly flinched away.

I have no idea why I did that, but I guess it's because of my reflexes and how stress is throwing me under the bus this past few days.

I mean, who would be relaxed after everything that happened?

Gin looked surprise at my reaction but I just smiled awkwardly. Sure, I was in denial about it two days ago. I honestly have a little resentment towards him, and I feel a little bit awkward. My feelings can’t help it since I was betrayed by the people I thought loved me dearly. It’s a trauma response.

“Are you angry?” His voice sounded worried.

I shook my head. "No, just a little tired.” Then J leaned on the car seat and sighed deeply.

I haven't started with my plan yet, but many things have happened so far. I'm honestly afraid on what will happen next — I wouldn't know what I will do if there's another tragedy or truth that I need to face on.

“What’s that? A lover’s quarrel?” Van chuckled while giving us the teasing stare.

I rolled my eyes and walked past Gin to move inside the car. He then followed and sat on the driver’s seat.

“Did you two fight?”

“Shut up.” Gin and I both nonchalantly gawked at the man wearing a mischievous smile. It made us look at each other, but then I immediately tore my gaze away and pretended to be fazed by the view outside the car.

“Oof, what a couple.” I heard Van’s remark.

It makes me want to punch him.

I sighed and leaned on my chair. The green-eyed man popped up in my head again. Who is he? What is his intention? The most disturbing part is, why and how did he get inside my house? He wanted me dead by handing me that glass of poisoned water.

Is he one of the maid’s acquaintances? If he is, why did he leave her out? Why did the maid didn’t talked about him? And how he slipped out unnotice that I, almost forgot about him too.

Now that I think about it, it’s kind of weird. The situation is off. Something is missing, and I can't pinpoint what it is.

Is he the mastermind? But I never even met him before; what possibly could he want from me? Money? Power? Fame?

I heaved a deep audible sigh and closed my eyes for a bit. Everything is so confusing. The future keeps changing, and it scares me to the point I can’t even relax even in a bit of a minute.

“Where’s your fiancée?” I asked Van while still closing my eyes. "She might be worried.”

“Nah, she’s busy.”

“Let’s just drop him in the house,” Gin spoke, “She might be there, you know.”

“You’re right. Then let’s go home.” I agreed without looking at him.

I felt the car stopped and that’s when I fluttered my eyes open only to see Gin getting outside the vehicle and pulling Van out.

“What are you doing?” Van struggled on his grip, but clearly, Gin is more potent, so he really can’t do much with hus strength especially that he's obviously hangover.

“You’ve been harassing me ever since!” He shouted again.

Gin didn't answer and raised his free right hand. I was about to go out and ask him what's happening but a taxi then stopped by, and Gin quickly threw Van inside the cab.

If a fly is flying near me, I could swallow it by how big my mouth went wide. I was speechless this whole time. I was shocked by the sudden event that happened.

Gin gave the driver money and went back inside. The cab then drove away.

“Let’s go.”

“W-W-What was that!” I exclaimed with a flustered expression.

He looked at me and smiled gently, “We’re not going home until we sort this out.”

“W-What now?” I almost scratched the back of my head because of the confusion and shock that hit me altogether.

“Let’s go. The day is still long.” He pointed to the sky, “Look how great the weather today is,” He expressed and started the engine, “Let’s go on a date, darling.”
