Chapter 41 - The safe house

Everly POV

“You’re scaring me. What is going on?”, I ask, and he shakes his head, pulling me closer to his body again.

“We need to move”, Theo says; whatever happened was serious enough for him to think we are not safe in a penthouse in the middle of the Upper East side. When we’re done in the bathroom, he gets dressed quickly and packs himself a small suitcase with essentials while I do the same. I put my hand on my stomach as I grab the only outfit I have bought for our baby while putting it in my luggage. Theo looks at me and walks out of the room, pulling his case not long after. He is back with a gun in his hand and stops in front of me while I close my suitcase after putting in my toiletries.

“What’s that for?”, I ask, and he grabs my hand and puts the gun in my hand. I shake my head, trying to pull my hand
