Carlos saw the realization in my eyes.

“I didn’t kill Anna.”

What?? She was dead but he hadn’t killed her?

“Then who did, why did you let her die? It would help if you had protected her. You knew the gravity of the situation, why couldn’t you be careful? Why did you let her die?”

I threw blows on the shoulder with tears in my eyes. He got my hopes up for nothing.

Carlos's chest began to heave and quake. I held back immediately, Was he crying?

I slowed down and moved closer to him, then he turned to me.

The Bastard was laughing.

“Anna.. Anna… Anna isn’t… isn’t dead Farrah..” He laughed.

How could he laugh at a point like this? I flew off the bed and went to the door. He had not locked it as we began talking the moment he came in.

I heard him call my name but I didn’t answer or slow down.

When I heard him running towards me, I increased my pace and began running. I was wearing one of my Pajamas but only the shirt. I had purposely picked an oversized one so the shirt was covering my rear
