6: Playoffs

I N  O N E  O F  the city’s largest and most lavish of private residences, came the sound of a whistling tea kettle from the kitchen that had hot wisps of steam trailing into the air after which a fairly tall middle-aged woman appeared, wearing a white dress and an apron of the same color. Her dark hair was folded back into a perm and had tiny streaks of white aligned from both sides of her temples.

It was the Sinclair Manor, ranked number three of the top ten biggest manors in Atlanta, thanks to its exquisite appearance as a modernized castle with its six tall peaking towers, all of which were coated white, surrounded with a large lawn almost three-quarters the size of a football field.

Back in the kitchen, the woman had taken the kettle from the electric stove and went on to pour it into a tall cream china cup that had tiny multi-colored flower petals designed all around it.
