Chapter 89 A Trap

Marco’s POV

“He is securing the basement,” I heard Cody reply to Gab eagerly.

“Do we have anyone injured among our men?” Gab asked while looking around.

“We had Alvin take care of the injured, nothing fatal, though, so we did not need anyone else,” Cody answered.

I did the same as Gab. I keenly observed the yard, including every spot my sight could reach. I even stepped around to check on the spots I knew had someone designated to take posts in a hiding but were now empty.

I did not try to hide my actions. I was not happy to see the surrounding seemed vulnerable. I am well aware that there is a high-alert security system in the entire property, which covers the mansion and the whole surroundings. But if intruders have found a way to penetrate that system, we need a manual security force.

I walked back to Gabriel’s side. He remained standing in the same spot where I left him to walk around the yard while talking to someone over the phone.
