Chapter 14: Difficult to understand

Bernie's POV

Each cup of wine poured down my throat, burning hot as if it wanted to burn my whole body. It's been a while since I was admitted to the hospital since I haven't touched alcohol, except when it's imperative that I politely refuse. Leonard is an important partner, and I could hardly refuse his invitation.

Suddenly, Dylan pulled me. He asked with a low voice, "Do you need me to drink instead? Emma said you can't drink much."

I shook my head, and when Leonard wasn't paying attention, he leaned close to Dylan's ear: "Don't drink. There must be a sane person between the two of us."

I narrowed my eyes slightly. This wine has a low alcohol content, but drinking a lot makes people feel dizzy. I was almost leaning on Dylan's shoulder, but before I knew it I heard him snarl, "Bernie, sit up straight!"
