Chapter 42: The past (2)

Lucky whined, barked a few times, and then ran off to play with the small dogs in the shop. The other man reluctantly handed Bernie a seed for the dog: "He's a bit fat lately; I've grabbed him to go jogging to lose weight but still can't. If you have free time, bring Mike here!"

"Isn't it because you spoiled it too much, Ash?" Bernie looked at the packet's ingredients, found it less dry than the previous one, and asked, "Do you have more of these?"

Ash shook his head: "I just bought it for Lucky to try; if it's good, I'll take a lot to sell. This packet is dedicated to Mike!" While saying that, Ash smiled and poured more nuts for the visitor's cat.

"Ash, what are you doing? Hurry in here and get your pet cat out! It's about to scratch my desk!" Suddenly, Jennifer's voice rang out. She was Ash's sister.

Ash gave Bernie an apologetic look and hurried inside. Bernie had nothing to do; he sat on the sofa and waved to Lucky.
