CHAPTER TWO: THE REVELATION.

THE REVELATION.

Kyra.

I scowled at her,my anger surging, my pride wounded by her guts.

"You have no right to order me around," I retorted, she knew I hated her .

Infact the feeling was super duper mutual.

She stared down at me like it was my fault that there was war in heaven.

"I'm going nowhere." I said my tone was laced with venom,so much . "I'll come and see her  when I'm good and ready. When I'm super ready, when I'm done with breakfast. And besides tomorrow is my eighteenth birthday I need to sleep then plan for it."

"I wonder where that kind hearted woman got you from, you can  breakfast while your mother is dying ."

She turned on her heels and began walking to the door.

"Come with me Sara." She called to the maid."We have got work to do."

I know nothing was wrong with my mother.Other than a little headache from time to time and that persistent cough which had refused to leave.

She just can't die,my life would be meaningless.

They just wanted me to come see her.

God.

I groaned inwardly.

With a huff of indignation and a deadly look cast at her, I swung my long  legs over the edge of the bed and pushed myself to my feet.

I ignored her pointed glare as I stormed past her down to my mothers room.

I walked with light steps towards her room ,I pushed the door open as gently as I could but as soon as my eyes danced into the room,I hurried inside rushing towards her side.

My eyes danced wildly.

She looked so frail, like she would sink into that big bed any moment from now.

She lifted a thin frail hand beckoning towards me .My eyes watered as I fell in her bosom.

"What happened to you mom?"

I knew my question was so stupid and sucks .I had only cared about myself never bothering to know how my mother was faring.

She was super busy and I hardly saw her during the day.

"Mom. " I called again ,my voice choking with pain and the horror of seeing her in this state

My heart raced in every emotion necessary, tears streamed down my facem

"Mom!" I called out again as if it would make her gain more pounds of flesh and she would tell  me it was all a prank.

My voice trembles with a sense of fear as she smiles weekly at me.

Her once vibrant and smiling eyes were filled with pain, unsaid pains, hidden that she didn't want me to know

"Darling," she said weakly, a faint smile dancing on her thin frail lips ."Happy birthday,Kyra." She lifted her hands and brushed back my sun coloured hair.

The sound of her voice, though barely a whisper,so small,so inaudible filling me with both panic and anguish -

"My birthday is tomorrow mom,not today ." I was reminded.

She nodded so weakly I feared that her neck might snap if she did that again.

I took her frail hand gently in mine.

"Mom, why didn't anyone tell me ,why didn't you tell me that you are sick, why didn't you tell me ?" I asked, the words stumbling against each other like some kind of puzzle m

"Why did you keep it from me?" I yelled at Rosa who stared back at me without saying a word.

She stood in the doorway, pity in her eyes.

"Don't blame anyone,my sweetheart,I strictly told them not to tell you,I didn't want you to worry." She said as her have tightened around mine.

Her touch was soft, reassuring,it spoke volumes yet silent.

Her voice was so small that I could barely hear her.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I gazed down at her, my heart breaking at the sight of her lying there, so frail and vulnerable.

"But Mom,you should have let me know."I protested weakly, the weight of the guilt pressing into my shoulders making me look so small.

"Shhhhhh." She said "You are still a child, there is nothing you could have done my dear. You are turning Eighteen tomorrow and I feel that there is a lot of things you need to know."She stared at me and I could see her eyes brimming with unshed tears

Feeling rushing emotion raced through me as I leaned in and embraced her burying my tear streaked face in the corner of her neck.

"I love you so much mom." I whispered.

"I love you too,Kyra. You have been the best thing that have happened to me  but it breaks my heart seeing you like this."

She croaked, her voice laced with pain.

She held me close, so close to her like a mother cat  would do to her kittens.

Her arms enveloping me in a warm embrace that felt so cool and sweet.

After being locked in the embrace for a while she lifted her head and stared into my eyes.

I could see the undeniable love dancing in them.

"Remember that I always love you , Kyra Louisa Blane."

She sniffed and I could see that stubborn tears that had been held down for two long sliding down.

There's so much I need to tell you, my darling," she began, "I thank the moon goddess that you have come of age and soon you will find your mate." Her voice filtered like the rays of sunlight, shaking slightly as she spoke.

"I don't understand." I croaked a knot tightening in the pit of my stomach.

I swallowed ,the tears suddenly dried up from my eyes.

"There are so many things I wished I could have told you while you were growing up but I was busy chasing the wind ."

She had a very faraway look in her eyes.

"If I can't tell you the whole story,Rosa here will teach you , guide you ,tell you all you need to know."

I turned to glance at Rosa.

Was that a smirk I saw in her face tugging at her lips.

"Mother,I called...."

"The wealth we enjoyed is not ours."
