Chapter 3

Ravenna's POV

I winced as I fell on the floor and hit my back on the wall. 

I recognized him when he came in earlier. 

It was the great and powerful Levilah onyx. 

My heart thumped as he moved closer to me, and I only managed to crouch up to a kneeling position as he stood in front of me

I can't believe I'm kneeling before Levilah. I have read about him in books, seen his pictures but I've never seen him this close. 

I've heard of how heartless and ruthless he is and how he spares no one, not even children when he wages war on a pack. He shows no mercy. 

Every other pack tried not to cross paths with the werewolves of Onyx. They held the ultimate power to destroy. They were the richest and most powerful pack. 

It was said that if Levilah appears alone or with his second in command which I assume is that scary-looking guy, it means only one thing. War. 

Now I don't even know what he would do to me for lying to him and harboring his enemy.

He would probably kill me. 

Levilah moved closer to me, his eyes still fixated on mine. I was forced to look away at some point, who dares stare at him directly. 

With every step he took, my heart pounded heavily. Am I going to die today? This is the end? I'm not 25 yet, I'm only twenty-four, and there's still hope of living for four months at least. Why is this world cruel to me? Why did the moon goddess bestow me with such a fate?

I shut my eyes tight expecting the worst when suddenly I felt a hand push the strands of hair that covered parts of my face. A cold ..cold hand. 

"My mate" The deep masculine and terrifying voice made me open my eyes instantly 

Whattt?!. What did he just say? 

What is he talking about? 

The fear in me got mixed up with confusion. 

He now crouched to the same length as me.

 

For a minute, he stood still and stared deep into my eyes. I tried to look away but for some reason, I couldn't, it just felt like he did something to me as soon as our eyes met. 

What is he doing?. I'm supposed to be dead already. 

"What are you talking about Levilah? We're done here. We need to leave" His guard. Czar said and Levilah nodded and stood up. 

"Let's go " Levilah glanced at me one last time, then he stood up and left. His guard followed behind, carrying the half-dead alpha with him. 

I heaved a sigh of relief the moment they left as I sat on the floor weakly, unable to do anything. Just when I thought everything was finally over, the door opened again and two hefty-looking Alpha king's guards barged into my room. What is going on? 

"You weren't present at the emergency gathering. The Alpha leader of the pack wants to see you" . One of them said and without waiting for me to respond, they both dragged me out of my shed to where everyone else was gathered. 

"Where the hell were you raven?. You decided to stay back when everyone else gathered and that almost put us in trouble , you stupid girl" Eve hissed immediately the guards pushed me on the floor in front of the whole pack but I managed to get up. 

"Ravenna Bale. While everyone else was gathered, you chose to stay back..." 

How did they find out? How did they know what happened in my shed while they were all here? 

"I didn't stay back on purpose. That alpha threatened me. I'm telling the truth please believe me. He...said he'll kill me if I screamed or tried to leave " I tried to defend myself. 

"How do you expect us to believe you?. There's no proof "

"How can I harbor an enemy of Levilah when I know what he would do to the pack if he finds out. I didn't even know initially. It was until Levilah came to my shed. That alpha threatened me. " Tears gathered in my eyes as I tried so hard to make them believe me. 

I felt it thumping so fast and loud. I wasn't even listening to what the alpha of the pack was saying to the pack members. My heart felt so heavy and I just want to leave. I want to leave this place this place badly. I want to run away. Everything was scary and crazy at the same time. 

As I stood in front of the whole pack, the alpha beside me, I awaited my fate. 

I felt their gazes on me. Eve, Javier, Kali, and the rest of the pack members. What is going to happen to me? I took in that man earlier and I almost put the whole pack in trouble. Right now, they all stared at me with disdain. All of them except Kali of course who looked at me with pity. 

"Ravenna Bale. If we let you stay here you'll only put the pack in trouble. We don't know when next Levilah Onyx might return.  you dare to keep an enemy of Levilah in your shed. 

You should know that harboring Levilah's enemy will also make you an enemy. If you remain in this pack, you will cause us nothing but trouble. And Levilah Onyx will be back. We all know that. He doesn't let his enemies off the hook. And you've made the pack an enemy by being so crazy to harbor Levilah's enemy. 

Ravenna Bale, you're hereby banished from the pack"

Tears fell from my eyes as soon as he made that judgment. 

"Yes. That is the right thing to do!" Someone said. 

"It's a shame to have someone like her as my niece Alpha. I think she has overstayed her welcome here. We have been helpful enough. It's time to let her go. I support your decision, my Lord" 

I looked up to see who had spoken and it was no other person than my uncle. 

What did I ever do to them to deserve this?. I've lived only to please them. I was treated like a slave since birth, I've never complained for once and this is how they pay me back?. 

How can they be so cruel to me? 

"Yes. She needs to leave this pack. When the alarm howl was made, I tried to get her to come with me but she chose to stay back. I didn't know that she planned to keep that wolf inside and put us all in trouble" Eve lied. 

" I think we should go by votes If there's anyone who doesn't agree to the decision of sending her away, put your hands up. " 

I looked at them, one by one, their hands down, their faces filled with hate and Anger. 

Amid the crowd, someone raised their hands. 

Kali!. It was Kali. My best friend. 

"This is not right. What has she done to deserve this from you all? She told us, she was threatened by that man" She said in my defense and even though her parents try to stop her. She still forced her way out and stood beside me. 

"Everyone knows it's a made-up story, Kali," Javier said. 

"Shut up Javier. Hypocrites. You all are wicked and you're all bunch of hypocrites. Tell me Javier what did Raven do to deserve such cruel treatment from you? You pretended to love her yet you cheated on her behind her back with her stupid cousin.  As if that isn't enough to break her fragile heart, you rejected her in front of everyone at school. You humiliated her. What did she ever do to you?"

"Kali!" Her parents called and her mother immediately dragged her away from my side.

 

"You're talking to the alpha Kali" She cautioned but Kali didn't listen. She went on and on. 

"If you do not take your daughter away right now, I might be forced to make a drastic decision" Javier's father. The alpha leader said and Kali was dragged away by her father.

The Alpha leader turned to me

"You have until dawn to pack your things and leave this city." He said to me and dismissed the whole pack.

It was an hour before dawn, I didn't sleep a wink as I just kept thinking about where I would go if I'm banished. Everything was just too much for me to take in. I haven't seen Kali either, it seems her parents locked her in her room to prevent her from coming to see me. 

I wasn't lucky to have a family that would stand by my side through thick and thin. I wasn't lucky to have a mate of my own. But I'm lucky to have a friend like Kali at least. 

I packed my few clothes into a sack. I didn't have a phone so there was no one to text or call. I picked up my diary and other few relevant things then just as I opened the door of my she's ready to head out, I was met with the cold gaze of Javier who stood at the door of the shed. I flinched. I didn't expect him to be here. 

What is he doing here? Did he come here to bid me farewell?, Or did he come here to laugh at me? He should be in his big mansion having a good rest by now and thinking of how to engage my cousin right? 

"What do you want?" I asked him 

He didn't respond and before I knew what was happening, he brought out a knife and pushed me back in. Then he locked the door behind him. 

"You think I wouldn't have a taste of you before you leave? If you try to scream, I'll not hesitate to drive this thing down your throat. Haha" he laughed maniacally as he pointed the knife at me

This guy is fucking crazy. We didn't have sex when we were dating because I wanted to remain pure for my mate. When he finally became my mate I waited for him to claim me so I could give my innocence to him but then...he messed up and cheated on me. Now he's trying to force himself on me. 

"Are you out of your senses Javier? You don't have to do this. Let me go please"  I pleaded but it seems he was determined to have me right now and right here. 

"Now take off your clothes"

I didn't answer. He smirked when he saw that I wasn't moving and before I knew what was happening, he hit me so hard that I fell, hitting my head on one of the benches in the room. 

"Pl..please," I said weakly and for some moment, I just laid there weakly unable to do anything.  I just sniffed, hot tears rolling down my cheeks. 

"You think I'm joking with you? " He asked as he came on top of me then he tore my top with the knife he was holding. 

"Rapist" I muttered, not able to scream or do anything and he slapped me so hard. He pulled my hair. 

"What did you say huh?" 

He gave me a heavy blow on my face and I felt blood come out of my nose and from the corner of my lips. 

He was still trying to get rid of my skirt while I struggled hard with him. And then the door suddenly opened and with a heavy force, Javier was thrown across the room. 

 It was Levilah onyx guard. Czar. 

His scary-looking eyes scrutinized me and he dragged me up and made me stand on my feet while I covered my upper body which was exposed with my hands. 

"You're coming with me to Onyx where you're going to be staying from now on. You're levilah onyx's mate and he has accepted you as his mate. Do not waste any more time and come with me. " he said as he walked up to where Javier lay wincing in pain. 

What did he just say?. Levilah onyx accepted me?. Is this a dream?. Just like that?. I was confused but a part of me was at least happy that I'd have somewhere to go to. 

"How dare you touch the alpha's mate?" 

He carried him up and threw him across the room and he fell straight at my feet. I shivered in fear as I watched him almost kill Javier when I screamed. 

"Stop! Why are you doing this? I don't...even know you. "

He turned to me without answering and before I could ask any other questions, he carried me in a princess style and dashed out of the room.
