Chapter 4

Ravenna's POV

Like a gentle lamb, he dropped me delicately to stand properly on my feet, and as I balanced myself and then my sight caught the face of the person I wasn't ready to see at the moment. Levilah onyx. I've read about him in books, I've seen his pictures on the internet, he was feared by all and his name alone could send someone to a coma instantly. With how infamous he is, girls are still willing to die just to get on his bed. They would do anything just to see him and even getting on his bed. How can this man claim me?. 

He looked breathtakingly beautiful, like a beautiful piece of art as he leaned against the black car behind him. He held a book that covered half of his face and was looking into it.  

Goodness...the moon goddess had a favorite and this man right in front of me is her favorite. Seeing his pictures on the net was not as satisfying as seeing him stand right before you.so I'm one of the fortunate werewolves alive to see him. 

"Are you just going to stand there gawping at me? Get in the car" His voice jolted me and I immediately blinked and looked away embarrassed.

He then walked away and got into the car through the other side which was already opened by a young looking hot guy, his bodyguard I guess. The guy came to my side and opened the door for me. 

Reluctantly I entered and I sat comfortably in the most expensive car I've ever seen. 

I looked around for the other guy but I didn't find him. Seems he left with another car. But i didn't see another car except this one. Where did he go then?

Immediately the car started, I tried my best not to glance at the man sitting beside me but then this man was just too beautiful to not steal a glance and the second I did that. My eyes met with his again! Fuck!!. That was scary. Why is he looking at me?. 

He has been staring at me all along. Sitting beside a great and powerful person like Levilah is scary. What if? What if he strangles me? What if he kills me right here because I'm his mate? I'm so sure that he doesn't want someone like me as his mate, and the news might have spread around that I'm his mate, so he might just try to shut everyone up and make the news die down by killing me. 

Why can't he just reject me instead of killing me? He should at least wait till I clock twenty-five. 

"Ravenna bale" his cold voice called which made me shiver. 

How did he know my name?. 

As if I was expecting that call, I turned to look at him immediately

"I'm not going to eat you. Look at me" 

What?. Did he find out that I'm scared of him? Why would he tell me to look at him? I don't dare to do that yet besides I've heard that people do not look at him directly in the face.

 

"I'm talking to you!" His voice sounded a bit stern to me this time and I was forced to raise my head and look at him.  Gosh!. 

I blinked and tried to avoid his eyes as he spoke. 

"You're my mate. I'm not going to kill you or try to harm you". 

"Why did you..err accept me as your mate?why didn't you reject me?"

He smirked. 

"Why do you think I would reject you?. How can I reject my mate?. That's would be such a cruel thing to do, don't you think?, Except of course you want to reject me"

"No. No!. I... I cannot reject you. I accept it" I don't know if I said that because I have nowhere else to stay or because I couldn't reject him. Besides why would anyone reject someone like Levilah?. 

At least now that I've been banished from cresentvale, I would have somewhere to stay. 

"You have every reason to reject me. I'm not going to stop you Ravenna. And I was aggressive earlier. Sorry about that"

What?!. Did Levilah onyx just apologize to me?. Wait!. Does it mean the rumours about him being ruthless were not true. It seemed as if it was a different Levilah onyx sitting beside me right now. 

My head hurts but I cannot even bring myself to complain. 

"Your head." He pointed to my head and I touched my head and noticed that I was bleeding. There was a little cut. 

"Oh.. it's... there's no need to worry about it. It was a little fall. I'm fine. Thanks" I said nervously. 

"Does it hurt?"

I laughed nervously and I tried not to have eye contact with him. 

"It doesn't. Err. Thank you" 

He smiled and turned to look at the driver in front of him. 

"How much longer is it going to take Blaze? " He sounded like he was uncomfortable. 

I guess he isn't used to riding in cars but why did he have to come to Cresentvale? Onyx Pack was a bit far from Cresentvale, from what I've heard, it would take about a day to go through the normal route but if you're going to take a shortcut you'll have to pass through the R forest. 

The R forest was known to be occupied by rouges and was considered dangerous. Most werewolves do not make it out alive after passing through the R forest except extremely powerful people, even if they make it out they would have severe injuries that would deter their health condition. 

"About 8 hours left," Blaze said. 

8 hours??, It's still so long and I feel so sleepy right now. I yawned. Then suddenly a growl followed. 

Ouch!. Hunger. I'm super hungry right now. I held my stomach as I tried to stop the growl but then again, it growled and I shut my eyes in embarrassment and glanced at Levilah but it seems he didn't hear the growl. He was already reading the book he was holding earlier again. 

 I haven't eaten anything since the day before, so it was expected but not even in a situation like this aish. 

"Are you hungry?"  Levilah asked me. I thought he didn't hear the growl. 

"No" I answered quickly and the car was silent again as it moved. 

Why did he ask?. I'm still trying so hard to not believe that this is the real Levilah. How can he be so nice?. He even apologized. 

Maybe he's not as bad as people paint him to be. He claimed me. I should at least trust him right?. He's not going to hurt me. He's never going to hurt his mate. 

It took me a while to notice that we had taken a different route. Wait!. Why is our car the only car here? Why does this place look like...don't tell me. 

"Where...are we?" I asked him. 

"R Forest," He said casually, no single atom of fear was depicted in his actions and his voice didn't shake. 

R forest?!. We're in R forest?, And he looks so calm like this. It would take about three hours if you pass through R forest and that is only if you're not being attacked. 

I looked around and noticed the sun was starting to go in and in the next few hours it would get dark. She wasn't ready to pass through R forest not to talk of spending the night here. 

I couldn't even say anything, I only shivered in fear, and with a troubled mind, knowing how dangerous this place is, sleep disappeared from my eyes as I tried my best not to look out the car window in case might see something that jump out and attack me. 

But after a while levilah spoke up again. 

"Blaze, stop the car once you make a turn"

"Why ....are we stopping the car?"

"Aren't you hungry?" I noticed he was staring at my stomach. 

"No. No, I'm totally fine. I'm not hungry at all" I replied holding my stomach and immediately my stomach growled.

No!. Fuck no!. This is not the time to betray me you stomach!.   I guess he noticed that I was scared and he smirked and held my hand. 

My hands shook the moment he placed his hands on mine. How can he hold me?. Once we get to Onyx, I'll ask him all of the questions I've wanted to ask him since he met me. 

"There's no need to be scared Ravenna. Stop the car" He ordered. 

Blaze  nodded and the car stopped in front of a very small restaurant. 

Written on a sign board and placed in front of it was 

' R forest Restaurant'

There's a restaurant in a place like this? This is unbelievable. 

What is this for goodness sake? I've never imagined dying at the hands of a rogue. I've always imagined a beautiful death. Maybe dying in my sleep but now I'm going to die in this damned forest, a painful death for that matter. 

Levilah came down from the car, together with other guy but I was finding it hard to even move from my sit. 

"Come down. Or do you want to be left alone here?" He asked me and  without waiting for another second, I jumped down and they both walked into the restaurant with me standing between Levilah and the blaze guy. 

I feel safe that way at least. 

The inside of the restaurant was not like I had imagined. I thought It was going to be dark and spooky and it was going to give an eerie vibe but it looked like a normal restaurant with a woman at the back of a counter. 

She walked up to Levilah immediately she sighted him and she bowed. 

"My lord," she said and Levilah nodded and went to sit while I followed him, then I sat opposite him. It seems the woman knows them. She doesn't look afraid and she's treating them well. How can she even stay alone in a big and dangerous forest like this?. 

It was Blaze who kept on talking to the woman. 

And within minutes, a tray of food was already set in my front. 

It contained different delicacies, from chicken to spaghetti to duck stew and bread to sea foods. 

Even though I was super hungry right now, I couldn't bring myself to touch the food. Like Levilah knew what I was thinking about, he took a spoon and scooped out of the duck stew. 

"See it's not poisoned. Raven, if I'm going to kill you I would have done so the moment I met you. Now eat up" he said and stood up. 

"Are you leaving?" I asked just as he was about to step outside. I don't even know where the courage to ask him so many questions came from. 

"I'll wait outside" He replied and left. 

He wouldn't blame me. I've heard of how dangerous this place and he shouldn't expect me to eat in a place like this right?. 

Then he walked up to where the woman was standing and together with Blaze they went outside, leaving me all alone in this beautiful restaurant. Although I was scared of being left alone when I saw them outside through the window, my mind came to rest. They would not let anything happen to me right? They're only staying outside to look out for the rogues and protect me when needed. 

I smiled and shifted my gaze to the food in front of me again. It smelled nice. 

I haven't tasted something like this in my entire life. I've only been made to watch when my uncle and his family are eating but I've never been allowed to taste or touch. 

I smiled and digged in. I took the chicken first and devoured it hungrily, then I took the bread, then I ate out of the spaghetti. I tasted everything at once and I smiled in great relish.

 

Hmm. This is delicious. Ignoring the fact that levilah might be looking, I hummed as I broke some of the chicken bone. 

Oh, how sweet, I looked outside and saw the trio facing the other way. They were not looking at me, thank goodness. Enough freedom to eat my food. But then I decided to settle for the duck stew first. I mean, Levilah tasted out of it and I would like to eat on the same plate as Levilah. Just as I finished the duck stew and was about to start eating the chicken I heard a loud bang outside and I screamed and pushed the hot plate of casserole making it pour on my left hand. 

The bang sounded again and I immediately hid myself under the table with the tablecloth covering me making everything look so dark and preventing me from seeing anyone.
