I laid awake listening to the whispering coming from down the hall and footsteps as they moved around. It was only six in the morning, which is very early when you're a parent, and certainly welcome to a few more minutes of sleep.
No doubt our kids were up and about this early in the morning. I smiled imagining what they're discussing amongst themselves.
I knew it had to be Emily leading the others. Being a big sister, she sometimes persuaded her little siblings to do whatever she wants. Now at 15, she was a typical teenager, and had once or twice given her dad a heart attack when she'd spoken about having a boyfriend.
