I'd just came from taking a nap, and I'd decided to go check up on Emily. Walking across the hall and towards the nursery, I felt a burst of excitement surge through me at the thought of seeing my daughter.
I'd recently realized that staying away from my baby was almost nerve-wracking. I wanted to know what she was up to. Was she asleep? Crying? Yet, I knew that a three day old baby could hardly do anything. I knew she wouldn't be gone, and if I hadn't heard her for a while, it meant that her dad had kept an eye on her.
Her dad. My husband.
