I waited for a long time before finally getting out of bed to confirm that they had actually left.

Wendy had informed Steven, who was waiting downstairs and in the parking garage, hoping to capture some useful footage.

That night, I couldn't sleep at all, but I had to pretend to be asleep. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and I dozed off in a daze.
