Chapter 17 : Enemies

As I stepped out of the room, still feeling the lingering warmth from Grace's touch, I couldn't help but feel a bit calmer than before. Whenever I was with her, the world outside seemed to cease to exist. She had this talent to make me forget about my problems as soon as she entered my line of sight, and I was starting to find it hard not to get used to this feeling of needing her to comfort me and soothe my thoughts.

When I met Grace again for the first time in years and saw the beautiful woman she had turned out to be, I thought the attraction I felt for her was purely sexual. But now that we seemed to be getting closer, I was starting to have different ideas about her. Though I hadn't been able to fully divulge the extent of my troubles to her, just having her near brought me a sense of reassurance and calm I hadn't felt in ages.

My thoughts wandered back to the events that had transpired between us during these past few days–our teasing and sexual encounters... I never t
