(Sammy)
It was a hot day, the sun was so hot that I felt as if I was already in hell burning for being such a jerk. I lost my job for the fifth time and knew my twin brother was going to be so furious.
He was the one who found this job for me, I just worked for two months, and I was promoted to managing director. A good position for me, as my mom said, and my twin said I didn't even deserve to be anyone's secretary.
Of course, all of them were just intimidated by my intelligence as well as beauty. But now I didn't even feel beautiful as I stood by the roadside with my luggage burning under the sun like a sausage left on the stove to burn out
“Damn…where is that jerk?” I muttered in frustration as I glanced at my Rolex gold watch around my wrist, and it was an hour passed. My twin was nowhere to be seen.
I was standing there like an orphan abandoned by her parents. And the cars driving by had noisy people who kept staring at me as if I had a sign on my forehead that said for sale.
Not only that, but I didn't know why I had no car…no, no wait I had a beautiful car I called Shawn, but my Shawn was taken away because I failed to pay for the alcohol I made people drink at the bar last night….damn it!
I didn't want to even think about last night, it was horrible. My best friend and I went to let loose and celebrate our single lives. Of course, it was one-sided, I was the only single dog; however, my bestie loved to suit the environment despite her being engaged to someone I thought was not right for her.
It was a beautiful night and out of excitement, I shouted drinks on me while dancing to the stripper pole which I wanted to try out and people went crazy as they ordered all expensive beers which the owner of the bar thought I would pay for.
As much as it was funny, the storm was calm, and the bill was dropped on my table and my soul immediately left my body, I didn't have any money to pay for everything; hence the man took my car and that was how I ended up being without a car and hopeless.
After some time of shielding my face from all the stares I was getting from people, I spotted a black sports car driving at full speed as it stopped abruptly just before me,
I frowned knowing the jerk was late and yes, I forgot, my brother was like some hotshot, a perfect body, great blonde hair with beautiful blue eyes which I wished I had, but God blessed me with hazel eyes with brown hair and like some god, who was handsome.
With a killer smile, my brother stepped out of his sports car and judging by his messy hair which he always kept neat and shiny, I knew work was a pain in the neck at his office, his white shirt was half tucked in his black trousers and his black tie loose as if he had been tagging at it repeatedly
“Sammy…for goodness's sake…what's all this” like expected my brother said as soon as he walked to me, but I didn't care about his anger, I was so tired and thirsty and hungry that I could barely hear him as I shoved my bag in his arms which he took unexpectedly and threw it in his car
“I quit…that clown can't handle me” I spoke as I walked past my tall brother who cursed as he grabbed my arm and pulled me back, so I could face him
“Sammy again…do you know the kind of trouble I went through to get this job for you…how can you do this again?” I could see that my twin was upset, he was the one to carry us.
I hated hunting for jobs and preferred staying at our parent's house and stuffing my face with food.
People couldn't handle me and found faults when they were just jealous, and hence I smiled and rested my hand on his shoulder
“I'd rather be a babysitter and watch annoying children than be anyone's slave…now let's go have something to eat…come on Charlie I'm starving, “I told him my thoughts and pouted when saying the last words. If he wanted to scold me, he'd better do it while I was eating, that way I could hear him well because whenever I was hungry, I heard nothing
“That can't happen… I have something important to do” my brother said immediately he entered the car and I took the passenger's seat and played with the little penguin which was dangling in front of me
“More important than your sister…your twin, “I asked not believing he'd dare refuse me when I was hungry and his little sister despite being the same age. My brother ignored my complaints and started driving the car.
“My boss died…the company is a mess and you calling me…is giving me a headache,” he said, and I frowned knowing my brother had the coolest job ever, he was the vice president at a well-known company owned by the Williams and the man who was the CEO was hotter than the two sons of Jupiter however he had kids
“You know I always knew you hated me…tell me why did you not find a job at that company at least I could tolerate a hot man but no…you chose a clown, “I remarked not caring about his boss dying, I preferred not to involve myself in my brother's affairs and like I said something funny, my twin chuckled as he turned the car and I frowned
“You wouldn't last a second…it's a shame he's no more…such a great boss he was, “my brother said, and I could sense a hint of sadness in his voice, his may voice which women went crazy over, and I rolled my eyes at his words and shifted my eyes out the window admiring the beautiful City of London?
“My condolences for your loss” I muttered after some time as I leaned back my head and closed my eyes. From now on, I would work on establishing my own business, but I hated working.
I knew my mom was already standing outside the door waiting for me to explain why I was worthless however as soon as my brother dropped me off at our house which wasn't big or anything,
it was in a quiet fancy neighborhood which was chosen by my parents and as soon as I stood there with my luggage, I cursed under my breath as I watched Trisha Morgan busy talking on the phone and I knew she was busy telling her husband about my failures.
“Hi mom…bye mom, “I say quickly as I passed by with lightning speed hoping to keep her off, but the woman already grabbed my bag and pulled me back, and I gasped at her sudden move
“She just came back…she's useless, and I'm sure she would have been better if you were here but no, you left us and went to fight some war which isn't even there” my mom kept on yelling and like I guessed my poor dad was getting the end of it and like an innocent child I stayed there and listened to my mom point out my dad's work in the army as worthless,
I wasn't offended because that was how mom and dad spoke to each other.
When everything was alright a few hours ago, there was a massive party at the farmhouse in Miami, only to receive a call that he was needed urgently. David didn't even know why he was called to fly down from Miami to London, but he did. He left the party and took the private jet back, only to get the shocking news of a lifetime: the death of his older brother. Nothing felt right, he was so disturbed that he rushed to the hospital to confirm if it was a prank. A prank by his brother to make him come back home, however, when he entered the room he was shown. David nearly collapsed. He didn't want it to be the truth, but his innocent brother was lying on a hospital bed covered from head to toe, and the sight of him not breathing hurt him. Furthermore, he always asked him not to work so much, but he never listened, he was sick but still worked as if life depended on it. And it was his ex-wife's fault. After she ran away with another man, she immediately gave birth to his brother's boys
(Sammy)I blinked a few times as if trying to process what had just happened to me. After getting scolded by Trisha, who couldn't stop pointing out my flaws of not knowing how to keep my job despite being beautiful and intelligent, I decided to go out and loosen up a little. I was too exhausted to stay in bed and stare at the ceiling, wondering where it went wrong. Like always I was never alone, I invited my best friend, my partner in crime and the only woman who understood me for me,she never judged me and always supported me even when I was wrong. That was Christina for you. I called her Chris for short, and she was one hell of a friend, although she was a two-timer.“So let's get this straight…some bitchy hussy, called my friend names…in front of old men and threw you out?” Chris said as if she didn't get what I just told her, after we got to our favorite bar, kill 'em drinks, a funny name for a bar, but the name complimented the person who owned it. A sluggish nearly old man wi
(David's POV)I thought my day was over, at least I would have appreciated it if I didn't have to do so many things. A second ago, my life was fine, it was perfect, and I didn't have to bother about responsibilities, but I was sitting in the study room which I didn't know existed in the mansion. To be honest, I never stayed in my house for even an hour talking of seconds. I was always on the move, that was why I had bought many penthouses in every corner of London. My brother lived in a nice mansion, with his two boys I only came to visit when I needed something, but now here I was, going through some files which I didn't even want to look at. It had only been three days since my brother died, we buried him and now everything was on her head. I was beginning to get irritated“What is this…is there a way you can choose another CEO or whatever… I have no time for this!” I yelled in anger, tossing the two files I had in my hands aside as a low groan escaped my lips, my head was alread
(Sammy's POV)Three days passed, and I was still irritated. Staying at home all day was a pain in the neck, especially when I had a mother like Trisha, she was a greedy woman who loved nice things. Occasionally I wondered how dad tolerated her all for so long. My parents were like my role model, never a dull moment, and they were married for so long and even still I never heard them talk about separation, even when they had misunderstandings, They never let their children know about it which gave me and my twin brother a sense of having a perfect family. I was aware that a perfect family was not possible but with my parents, it was proof enough, that was why my twin brother worked hard to be a good man in life just like our father. He worked hard day and night to make sure we were well-educated, he took her to the best schools and gave us whatever we wanted. This was my problem and the problem everyone said I had. I was too spoiled from birth hence working seemed like an issue. Bu
(Sammy's POV)I thought my brother cared about me or even loved me, but that was a lie, it was clear he wanted to humiliate me. I arrived at the damned building, which was obviously glorious, and they kept me waiting. As much as I felt ashamed stepping on its grounds as soon as I got out of the shabby almost broken taxi I booked, I was stunned to find the interior was spectacular with standard. Nothing less expensive. She was now guessing why her brother was so classy and well off. He was successful and had a satisfying life with everything he needed. In the past, I never bothered to actually look into Williams corporation, which was a well-known company. Most of my friends I graduated with dreamed of being accepted at such a successful company. Unfortunately, I didn't even bother. My only concern was finishing my studies and getting free from all the noisy lecturers and their nagging, but now my eyes were seeing heaven. The atmosphere was pleasant such that I was feeling dizzy, s
I scanned the furniture arranged to the left side of the room which was black couches with a coffee table in the middle and a vase of artificial flowers which got my attention then shifted my eyes to the glass table with a leather chair which, I assumed, was the boss's chair“Please have a seat… Ms Morgan”the man said as he guided me towards the desk and pulled out a chair and I gracefully sat down and set my purse on the table as I adjusted my white jacket I decided to wear over the tuck in white shirt together with black trousers with black heels. I would rather not look unprofessional; hence I did my best and my best screamed beautiful.“So welcome… I'm sure you were told that this interview won't take long, but I'll only ask you a few questions”the man spoke as he rummaged through a few files on the table and took out a blue file which he shoved on the desk near me. I nodded and fixed my eyes on the file and the man nodded as well “good… I'm Chase Miller…the company's lawyer as
(David's POV)I paced around my so-called office like a wounded animal. My mind was a mess as I thought about the possibility of the court giving my brother's hard-earned wealth to strangers just because I was found not eligible to take care of two boys who were only four years old. I mean, the twins in question were my nephews who I loved, and they loved me a lot. I didn't see why I had to have a permanent woman living in my house all for having a stable home and a good environment for two kids who still needed the love of parents“Calm down already… I told you… I have this under control”I heard Charlie say with a chuckle and I stopped packing and turned to look at him, and he was busy scrolling on his phone. It was easy for him to say that everything was okay, but I was the one suffering, I was the one feeling the pain of having the weight of the world on my head, and now I was waiting for Chase to come back with the results I needed to get out of the situation even if I had to sa
(Sammy's POV)My world came crumbling down when the so-called man who was interviewing me returned with a large box, which, I thought, was a gift box. I was happy and sipping the champagne when I was told the shocking news of a lifetime and choked on the liquid as I coughed violently trying to grasp for some air. Even when the man rushed to my side to help me calm down, I pushed him away as I lifted my head and fixed my cold sharp eyes at him that he slowly backed away from my evil eye with a piercing gaze which would drill through a soul if it could. I thought I was dreaming hearing what the man had to say and like a fool he repeated the words as if the news were something good.“The contract you just signed is you approving to be Mr. William's part-time wife…your weekly payment has been sent already…kindly wear this wedding dress and wedding ring so that we can take pictures”he said seriously as if my anger were nothing, he shoved the box to me and my anger flared up. I couldn't br
