A frown settled on my face as a mischievous smirk, dotted his face. I couldn’t help but feel a bit offended that he had the time to joke around after the way he had treated me last night. It made me wonder if maybe the whip had something to do with it. He probably must have whipped a few screw loose and that might have been the reason he had forgotten what had happened, as well.

“Excuse me?” I said, my brows furrowed while expecting a response from him.

“Why, did I stutter?” he replied and then I knew he meant what he had said, every single word.
