Chapter 61

Maria and Caleb walked in and halted almost immediately, causing Caleb to bump into Maria. The sight they saw caused both of them to gasp as they took in the scene. A man in his own pool of blood, holding a gun and an unconscious Selena lying across the dead man, it didn't look like she was dead.

Examining the scene, Caleb could tell that someone else shot the man dead and probably because the man was ought to kill Selena.

Without thinking much of it, Maria rushed to Selena checking her pulse. Maria sighed with relief realizing Selena was breathing. She might have gone into shock, sending her unconscious.

"What could have happened here?" Maria wondered as she gathered Selena in her arms. Caleb called the town sheriffs immediately and long enough, the crime scene was crowded with police men. Caleb gave the necessary information needed to the police and both left with Selena to the hospital after Maria's apartment was placed under lock and key to ensure no one ventured into the c
