Chapter 20:

Emma:

I awake with a splitting headache and take a look at my surroundings white walls, an IV connected to my veins and consistent beeping from the machine on the side of me. Hospital. I look to my side and see Lei fast asleep on a single chair with a blanket covering her.

I try to sit up and the machine’s beeping increases… Lei rushes over to my side “You’re awake” she says pressing a button on the side of the bed.

“I was so worried about you”

I look at her confused “What happened?”

“You had a concussion and were in a temporary coma for about 18 hours” I can’t remember a thing. Every time I try to focus I get this stabbing pain in my head.

“Don’t do that” Skye says as he walks into the room dressed in a white coat and a stethoscope around his neck. A doctor. Never would have guessed what with his body shape and all.

“What do you mean?” I ask.

“Stop forcing yourself to remember, you will only make it worse.” He says as
