Chapter 35 - A Proposal of Marriage
I was surprised at just how civilised the whole dinner party was. When surrounded by the most evil beings in the universe, you go expecting for at least one person to leave dead or at the very least fatally maimed.
But actually the meal went by without incident. Lucifer was bright and charismatic with his guest. Discussing normal everyday topic like family and events that had taken place.
I couldn’t easily see how Lilith had fallen for his charms so long before.
For me I was happy sitting back and enjoying the conversation and the occasional sip of wine. I was just glad that the focus was no longer on me. Besides the occasional glance my way, Lucifer said very little else to me.
He did however invite Lucas to his private quarters after he had seen me back to our own rooms. For what we were not sure. But Lucas dutifully took me back home and ensured I was comfortable for the night, before disappearing to see his father.
