How Life Ends?

When Christen woke, the first thing she noticed was the warm blanket wrapped around her body. Rather, the simple fact that she was still alive.

‘I'm... not dead, again,’ she thought, looking at her hand. ‘Again, somehow, someway, I was saved. Again, god delays my death. And for what?' Tears formed in her eyes at the question, heart consumed in depression as she turned to her side, her hand lowered to the floor by her. ‘Is it really that amusing, god? Is it really that fun to watch me suffer day after day? Feed me whatever happy lies you can feed me, and then rip them all away with the most horrible of truths? I already fell in love- twice- and even had a child I loved and raised with all my heart… There is only so much more I can bear…' The tears escaped her eyes, trailed down the bridge of her nose, down her temple, and dropped to the floor. ‘Why? Why can’t I at least choose where or when I die?’
