CHAPTER 10

Katarina's Pov

It was already dark when we got to the pack house. Nathan told me to wait in the sitting room while he went to speak with the Alpha. I found out the Alpha was still unmated and was looking for his mate. Nathan was also unmated and though he swore it was by choice, I could hear the pain in his voice.

My wolf had been quiet throughout the day and I was worried. It wasn't like her to be this quiet. At most, she would have tried to challenge Nathan when he called me a little girl. She was getting weak too. The pregnancy was taking a toll on her.

The door to the office opened and they both came out and walked toward me.

"Hello, Kat I'm Alpha Darren of the Black moon pack. I have heard of your situation and I'm happy to be of help. You can stay here for now and move out when you have somewhere else to stay." He stretched forth his hands for a handshake.

I was skeptical about his calm demeanor. This was the same person that almost tried to kill me less than twenty four hours
