Katarina’s Pov

I felt numb. I couldn’t process what I had just heard. It was like a dream. My first response to what she had just said was to terminate it. How is it possible? A silly mistake wants to cost me my dreams. I didn’t even know who the guy was. It happened so randomly and fast.

What do I tell my parents when they ask of the father? We were advised against getting pregnant by someone that was not our mate. Single mothers aren’t welcomed in Lakes Valley because it shows a lack of good judgment.

It didn’t even make any sense. I was regretting my poor decision already and then this. I went through a lot of options in the space of some seconds. I heard my name faintly from Maddie.

“Kat, Kat,” Maddie shakes me out of my thoughts.

“Are you okay?” She looked at me, concerned. I couldn’t reply. I tried talking but tears welled up in my eyelids and threatened to fall. Maddie saw my expression and immediately hugged me. The hug stimulated the tears and they began to fall. I cried on
