Katarina’s Pov

My phone has been vibrating on my seat for the past hour but I dare not pick up any calls. My tensed hands gripped the steering wheel and blasted Rihanna’s songs from the car to take my mind off my phone. It was a decision made in haste but I planned on sticking by it. I didn’t know what gave me the courage to make such a decision but my wolf was loving it. She felt free and waggled her tail.

For the first time, I was being defiant. I will call Maddie later when I’ve settled in a hotel. Maddie would never speak of the reason I left which was why I trusted her. It was an unspoken rule.

I had been driving for about six hours now and decided to take a break. I drove into a new town called Prime Hills and decided to stop and get some things before continuing my journey.
