Feeling uncomfortable under his burning glare, I cleared my throat, trying once again to rid the tension between us. “Dad...”

He narrowed his eyes.

“Are you going to glare at me all day?”

“Why do you choose to vex me?” he finally spoke, his voice calm but I knew better.

“It’s my life.” I crossed my hands over my chest, mirroring his cold expression.

“Thanks to who?” he arched his brow.

“That still doesn’t give you the right to control me.” I pointed out before I spun on my heels and strolled towards the kitchen. I knew this was bound to happen; there has never been more of a perfect mate for his daughter other than Abaddon. I fought the urge to roll my eyes as I kept walking. I eventually sauntered through the kitchen’s entryway and made it straight to the cupboards in a quest for dishes to use.

“You’re being stubborn, Lilith.” I heard him talk by the entrance

“Guess where I got that from.” I walked to the fridge and took out the ingredients I needed, placing them on the worktop.
