The Golden Cousin

Meghan's POV

The moon, a glowing yellowy white, loomed large, surrounded by an ethereal glow on a clear night sky. Its glimmering glow lightened the gloom of the night, piercing through an open window of an old mansion as it illuminated the dark room inside.

As I appeared back in the room, my eyes scanned the area, noting its state to be exactly as how I left it, empty and unvisited. Sighing, I sauntered towards the open window and stared at the night outside as I replayed the day's events. My eyes would constantly peer at the row of houses on the outskirts of the light forest that surrounded the packhouse and take in the old state they all were in.

The tense air looming over the area was pitiful, for having to live with the uncertainty of what would happen to you tomorrow was one of the worst kinds of punishment any being could receive. With just a simple glimpse, I could easily get a sad picture of my new home.

It really didn’t bother me, none of them mattered nor raised any concern
