Chapter 24

It looks like I'm too tired today; I slept very deeply.

Maybe because Brian suddenly mentioned my father today, I dreamed of him and my mother in the middle of the night. They were holding hands very happily; they looked at me lovingly and gently stroked my hair without stopping apologizing.

I vehemently shook my head, telling them it wasn't their fault, but my parents couldn't stop crying and apologizing. Every word they said made my heart ache.

Then they gradually moved back, and the distance between my parents and me grew farther and farther. No matter how much I tried to run toward them, they were gone, leaving me alone again in this cruel world.

I cried out miserably. "Dad, don't leave me; take me with you, okay?"
