Kelsey's POV:

'What happened?' I did not have time to react to Brian's speed; the first second was regular, and the next second was so tense that my scalp was torn.

I spotted a pack of wolves in the background chasing us. It was not difficult to recognize that they were the ones who were chasing us that day.

I urgently said. "Sir Brian, what do we do now? They are about to come."

Brian looked up at me; he was still running and had to carry more of me on his shoulders. "Silence is fine."

His words stiffened me.

'We can't fight now; Brian is right; we've been helping him by keeping quiet,' said Oralie softly.

I am angry. 'How can a wolf like you say that? In times of danger, we should protect our mates, shouldn't we? He can't transform; what if he gets caught?'

'Do you still have a conscience? Do you see that my feet are already soft? Besides, would you please open your eyes and see if your mate looks like someone who needs help?' Oralie bellowed.
