“It's surprising to know how you will almost kill that woman, Ashianna," King Edward said.

Marcus didn't permit me to leave the room because I needed to take a rest. It was the doctor who suggested it before he informed King Edward about what happened.

I began to hyperventilate because of anxiety when he encircled his hands around my waist. He gently pinched my skin, making me wince in pain. I swallowed when I felt his calloused palm touching my bare back.

“A woman who doesn't have a wolf can almost kill a trained assassin lady. You're making me flabbergasted, Ashianna. You make me more curious about your identity," he added.

I didn't know if he was being sarcastic toward me or not. He pursed his lips before he pulled my hair, which caused my mouth to part in pain. He stared at my eyes, trying to invade my soul, before I watched him lick his delectable lips. I swallowed hard, and it seemed there was a hard thing in my throat.
