Nagging Thoughts

DARIUS POV

The ride back home in the limousine was depressing and not as exciting as Darius had anticipated.

His hands neatly pleated at his sides, his fingers nervously tapping on his lap; he looked out the window as the cool breeze from inside found its way into the luxurious vehicle.

His gaze was ahead, soft music playing in the background, but his mind was elsewhere as he reflected on the horrific events at the auction ring.

The bloodbath that he had ordered after he had heard some unruly gossip from the human guests in the building.

He had heard the gasps from the men seated close to his private area and the conversation that followed after he had unruly growled out the sacred mate word from his lips when his dead wolf had surfaced, venomously and with spite.

Darius had focused his gaze on the red-blonde girl he had seen earlier amidst the clinks of glasses, but he couldn't deny the knowledge that his wolf sixth sense had picked up the words the men around him said in whisper
