Chapter 5

Ralph's pov.

I could feel the mate bound, but this wasn't what I imagined as a mate. Just holding her neck disgusted me afterall, she was just a weakling. This wasn't what I was promised.

“Please… please don't hurt me…” she struggled, making me let go of her neck which caused her to hit her body against the floor.

My eyes lingered on her for a while, giving her a bone chilling look before I walked away from there.

Anger filled my eyes, and I immediately walked into my study which wasn't too far away from her room.

My heart banged in my chest, and I found myself not denying the fact that I was pissed.

Greyson must have thought I was stupid. Did he really think I wouldn't find out?

I was still pacing around my study, weighing what seemed like the best option. However, the only thought that came to my mind was to teach him a big lesson.

I was never going to let him deceive me just to go freely. I was going to make sure he paid for everything that he did.

Once I had decided what to do, I mindlinked my beta, and gave him a strict command.

“Prepare the car. We are going to pay a visit to the dark Shadow pack. I want to have a discussion with the Alpha.”

My beta was actually really shocked. I could feel it through the link, and then his next statement confirmed my suspicions.

“Again? We just got you your new bride. You should be–”

I interrupted him without thinking twice, my voice stern, and filled with authority. “I didn't recall asking what you think about it. All I need from you is something simple. Do as I have said, now!”

“Yes Alpha,” My beta answered, seeming really worried. However, I ended the mindlink. I was the alpha king, and no one dared to question, or deceive me.

In a few minutes, I was informed by one of the guards about the development.

“The car's ready for your departure.” He replied, his head lowered not to meet my gaze.

“Alright…” I replied, Walking past the guard who followed me from behind. He maintained a good distance behind me until I reached outside the house.

My beta stood there. He had no words, but I could tell there was a lot.

“The car, and the driver are ready just like you instructed.”

I nodded, satisfied by how swift the process was. However, I didn't intend to go to the pack anymore. I had a change of heart about the issue.

“Get into the car, and go to the dark Shadow pack. Bring me their Alpha, and do not hesitate to bring him here.”

He nodded, bowing to me before he got to the passenger seat of the car. He was always ready to follow my orders.

The car moved out of the compound, leaving a trail of dust. However, I couldn't help but think of what cruel punishment would be good enough for that old fool.

“How about we burn him alive?” My wolf suggested, but I waved that thought out of my head.

I wanted him to be alive for us. I didn't care what was going to happen, but I needed more than just whatever was going to happen.

I wanted him to suffer pain. I wanted him to beg, and bleed. I was going to make sure he was beat up so bad his status would be at stake.

My study was one place I loved to spend my time thinking about a lot of things. One of them was the issue at hand.

In order to distract myself, I decided to make sure to drown myself in work. I was really looking forward to my Beta's return. I wanted to be the one to land the first blow on alpha Grayson.

Since the pack was far away, I had to wait till it was almost nightfall.

However, a guard rushed to knock on the door to my study. Immediately I heard the knock, I sighed.

“Come in…” I replied feeling rather impatient. I couldn't wait any longer.

He walked into the room with his head lowered.

“Good evening Alpha…” he greeted in a shaky tone, but that wasn't new to me. I was a really feared man due to my ruthlessness.

My frown deepened. “What's your business here, state it…” I spoke, and allowed my eyes to linger on him.

“He's here…” The guard stated, and went further to make sure he explained whatever he meant. “The beta has returned with the alpha of the dark shadow pack.”

My frown slowly turned into a smirk, and I rubbed my hands together signifying danger. This was what I had been waiting for.

“Inform the Beta to take him to the torture room, I'll be there in a minute,” I explained, and in the next few seconds, he was gone.

I didn't follow immediately. I allowed some minutes to go by before I decided to see him. I mean how terrified he would be.

Afterall, no one gets called by me for no reason. I was always the one in control, and I didn't care how it affected the next person.

It was only a matter of time before I moved towards the torture room which was close to the dungeon.

As soon as I got closer, the smell of rust, and dried up blood reached my nostrils, reminding me of the countless tortures I had performed.

By the time I got to the place, I became really happy inside. The beast in me wanted him to regret everything he did.

I walked into the room, darkness the only presence. Luckily, our wolf senses helped us see clearly. However, we still fail to notice the darkness.

“Alpha Ralph, I did expect you to… ugh!” I punched him so hard that he trailed off just to groan in pain.

He crouched down and I watched him with a satisfied smirk on my face. I was proud of whatever I had just done, but that wasn't enough.

I rushed towards him, and grabbed him by the collar, slamming him against the wall which caused him to groan in pain.

To me, that wasn't enough in any way. It wasn't enough to show him how angry I was by the strings he pulled.

“What do you take me for, huh?” I asked, anger occupying my tone.

He was shaking, and he tried to speak. However, fear didn't let him utter any words. He kept stammering, and didn't say anything that made any sense to me.

“Pl–ease… please it's just a simple misunderstanding. It's not what you…” He trailed, seeing the mean look in my eyes.

“You should shut up because at this point whatever you say now holds no meaning to me. I have made up my mind to teach you a lesson.”

He pleaded some more. “Please don't do this, please… I am old and feel pain.

“You don't know what pain is yet. I promise to make you bleed so much you'll never deceive the alpha king ever again!” I yelled in anger landing punches on his face continuously.
