Chapter 93: Cheating

“Dian–I mean, Patrice, you need to wash up,” I heard Brena whisper to me as she still helped me walk.

“I don’t have makeup, my makeup is in my bag.”

“Where’s your bag?”

“It’s in the classroom. I sent it to Shin earlier.”

“What?!”

“Brena, I need to get my bag without anyone seeing my face.” I cried to Brena.

I heard Brena sigh. “Fine, I’ll take care of it.”

“Thank you so much, Brena.” I’m still crying.

I want to cry now because of the mixture of joy and annoyance that I feel. I was disgusted by the students who smeared cake all over my face for nothing, but I cried because Brena came and defended me.

“We’re almost in the classroom. We’ll get your bag.”

I just nodded.

Just for a few moments, I heard the door open, and Brena and I suddenly got quiet.

I think we are in the classroom now.

“Brena, who is that with you? Why are you covering his–her head?” I heard one of our classmates ask.

“Nothing,” Brena answered simply, but a bit distantly.
