Chapter Twenty-Nine

The wind whipped through my hair as Asher continued to run in the direction of my new home, but my mind was still consumed with the memories of what happened at my old home. I had been successful in recent months at burying the memories, but now Connor had caused a few to wiggle their way into my mind, the flood gates to the rest had been opened. The more I would push down the memories, the stronger they would get, and it was all I could think about.

“Are you sure it’s safe to drive in these conditions, you know you both are always welcome to stay the night or even until the storm passes?” Scott’s mother Ashely asks standing outside of her front door, the sky was dark due to the rumoured storm which was approaching the city later tonight.
