Simon held her gaze, raising his eye brows. She had a serious look on her face, it seems she already knew, like she just needed confirmation or she was trying to buy time for herself.

He sighed and took a sip at his Negroni, pressing his lips together as the liquid burned down his throat. A quick glance at Julia, she wasn’t looking at them this time, but Simon was sure that she was eaves dropping.

There was no way they’d speak for her not to hear, only if she’s busy with a customer or not paying attention.

“I was worried.” Simon said the words, looking straight into the opposite blue eyes in front of him. He didn’t want to go into details all at once.

This time, Diana’s confused look wasn’t fake, it was genuine, even though she had the hunch of what he was getting at.
