Simon struggled free from the grip of two hefty men, he stopped his struggle when they showed him the .45 caliber they were both holding, Diana was sitting beside him; she was too frightened to speak. The two hefty men sat on the two extreme ends, with Diana and Simon in the middle, making the back seat very stuffy and tight. Simon glanced around, panting heavily from the struggle, the entire vehicle was dark. All the lights were out, he couldn’t see who was driving but he could see that there was another person occupying the passenger’s seat. The hefty men didn’t look like Freddy’s men, and they weren’t even dressed like Freddy’s men; again it wasn’t Freddy’s doing. Simon was certain that it was the people who had been trying to take his life. But, why would they kidnap Diana alongside with him, he was the only one they needed. He had to find a way to let Diana escape, dealing with another guilt would kill him. Nevertheless, he had to be very careful. “What do you want, I’ll giv
Simon words stunned Diana, what was he thinking? She was trying to save him here and he was objecting it. Was Gonzalez words right? Does he already have feelings for her? What would make a man put his life on the line for a woman he just barely started talking to. Gonzalez laughed hysterically, he knew his instincts were right, getting rid of Simon was the right decision. “Just when I thought I was wrong, the truth unfolds itself,” Gonzalez said, smiling devilishly, he turned over and sat comfortably on the passenger’s seat. “How close are we?” He asked the man who was driving the vehicle. “Less than twenty minutes and we’d be there,” the man replied. Diana didn’t know what else to do, the person she was trying to save was also trying to save her, this wasn’t the time to be a hero. Even though she knew he was a retired soldier, taking on people who had weapons would be very dangerous, especially for her. “Cut it out Simon, it’s me he wants, if you promise him you won’t ever talk
Gonzalez looked at Simon, anger boiling up inside him, the bastard he had cornered a few minutes ago was now putting up a deal with him. He had been too careless and reckless, if he had been careful; the first thing he was supposed to do was look into his victim’s past. Who knows the hell this man had went through, as far as he was concerned, Simon wasn’t just an ordinary civilian. Either he was a cop, a soldier or a secret agent. A normal civilian may carry a lethal weapon but wouldn’t be able to use it like Simon did. With Simon knowing all these, he was cornered already, he had a hunch the type of deal Simon wanted to propose. Just when he had started enjoying the sex with Diana, his chances were obliterated. “Make a deal?” Gonzalez chuckled, trying to manipulate Simon with his confidence. “Don’t push it Gonzalez, we both know you’ve no chances of winning this fight, if you pull the trigger, we both die and the girl goes free. I wouldn’t be more pleased,” Simon explained the si
“This time I’ll go first,” Simon smiled, gazing right into Diana’s eyes. “You’re safe now, I can’t believe you’ve such issues in your life and could still smile all day,” Simon said, moving closer to Diana. Diana didn’t know the expression to make, but she could feel the moisture in her eyes, blinking too much would cause the tears to roll down her cheeks. She had to comport herself. “Same here Simon, I can’t believe someone is trying to take your life and you could still smile all day,” Diana responded, managing a warm smile. She had so many questions to ask him, she wanted to hug him so tightly for saving her. He didn’t only rescue her from feeling unwanted pleasure that night, he saved her entirely from it. Now she was free again, but who knows what Gonzalez would plan again. She thought. Her days working at the club were numbered, all she needed now was to gather enough money that would last her a month or two before she could get another job. “I guess our eye color is not o
The ride had been a silent one, but Diana had enjoyed every bit of the journey; she was able to rest her head on Simon’s shoulders. It gave her the comfort and confidence she needed, she also felt very safe with him. Now, they were climbing her stairs, and Diana was feeling somewhat embarrassed because of the stupid elevator wasn’t working. “I’m sorry about the stairs, the house owner’s a prick,” Diana cursed, a small frown appearing on her face. “This is nothing compared to the exercise I’ve endured,” Simon said, as he took each step carefully. He was only climbing the stairs slowly because of Diana, if it was only him; he’d have run all the way to the top. “Well, it something for me!” Diana complained, her breath was starting to get heavy. “Want me to carry you?” Simon offered jokingly, a grin curling the side of his lips. He never expected the answer he got. “Yes, I would be really grateful,” Diana paused, panting slowly, she was stretching out her hands to Simon. He was as
The silence seemed as if it had been more than five minutes, whereas it was still few seconds. Diana was expecting the answer very anxiously, her gaze was focused on Simon’s face, she could see the uneasiness. The words that were going to come out of his mouth would do something to her, either positively or negatively. The fact that she was very worried about his reply shows she really had something for him, but she wasn’t going to believe it or acknowledge it just yet. Simon cleared his throat and sighed, he actually said those words just to win the conversation between him and Gonzalez, he didn’t even think twice before he said it. Nevertheless, with everything that was happening, what he said seemed like the truth, even though he felt this was just infatuation. He wasn’t going to lie but right now he didn’t know if what he wanted to say was the truth or not, he was still not convinced that he had fallen completely for Diana. It was too soon to conclude. However, he wondered what
Diana heaved a sigh, thinking of the question now felt awkward, she had always thought she’d be the one asking. She wasn’t certain if any of the answers floating in her mind was the right one, she didn’t want to say something that might come back to bite her in the ass. “I don’t have an answer to that question, Simon. I literally don’t want to say the wrong thing,” Diana finally replied after much brooding, it was better she didn’t answer at all than saying the wrong thing. Simon nodded positively, he had an understanding look on his face; he himself didn’t have the answer to the question, and he also didn’t know whether to think positively or negatively. Was he going move on this quick? Not until he got his revenge, Simon thought. However, Simon’s understanding face didn’t go down well with Diana, she felt she had hurt him with her words. She closed the gap between them and placed her hands on Simon’s lap. Gazing at him with an ‘I didn’t mean it that way’ look on her face. Their
Nick sat upright when he saw the seriousness on Nathe’s face, he moved his chair forward and leaned on his desk, staring right into Nathe’s eyes. “What did you say?” Nick questioned, willing to clarify what he had just heard. Simon sighed and also moved his chair forward, staring back at Nick with a serious look on his face. “I said, I know the mother fucker who’s trying to kill me, which means I know who put Angelina in that state,” Simon rephrased. He quickly took one of the many piece of papers on Nick’s desk and grabbed a pen from the pen bucket scribbling down something. Simon shoved the piece of paper to Nick and waited for his reaction, he was a detective; he didn’t need to tell him what it was. “Yesterday, everything happened. Turns out I was admiring a woman who was indebted to a dangerous man and he doesn’t want anyone near her.” Simon briefed, he crossed his legs feeling like he had achieved a gold medal. “You mean this person is trying to kill you, just because of y
