Chapter eighty-five

After Venn calmed down, I was much more relieved. Now I just needed to tell my stepmother about the relationship between me and Matthew. There was nothing for me to worry about on my stepmother's side. Notifying my stepmother that I was married just showed my duty and self-respect to her. She would also just listen to the story without reacting, that was what I expected.So I decided that when I brought Venn home, I would take the opportunity to inform her that I was married.

Anyway, my stepmother was also a very easy person to talk to, she only had obligations to me so of course she wouldn't feel disappointed when I quietly got married without telling her.

The time Matthew and I talked to Matthew was really fast, my stepmother just asked a few random things related to our relationship. In fact, she didn't care about me so much that she had to ask if we really loved each other. What she really cared about was whether she was perceived by others as a stepmother who didn't care about her
