Chapter twenty four

Desperation and fear tore at my heart as Angel and I cautiously made our way through the deserted warehouse district. Heaven, we were still looking. We had taken matters into our own hands after waiting too long for the authorities to take action. We did this by pursuing a trail of cryptic hints that eventually brought us to this secret factory. Since my father's tracker has never failed, I am confident that I will soon locate my daughter.

The only sounds that shattered the silence that night were our soft footsteps and a distant machine's hum. Long shadows were formed over the floor by moonlight that filtered through the roof's fissures. My nerves were tingling with anticipation and dread as my senses were on high alert.

We reached the entrance of the factory, and I shared a glance with Angel. His face mirrored the same mixture of determination and anxiety that I felt. We knew we were stepping into danger, but we were willing to face any obstacle to find our daughter.
