Chapter 34

Amelia cowered in her room, her heart pounding. She had been planning her escape for hours, and had almost made the final preparations to leave. But then, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted something moving in the darkness.

She froze in fear, her breath catching in her throat. As the figure stepped forward, Amelia could make out the shape of a large, grey wolf. The wolf growled, its yellow eyes studying her intently.

Before she had time to run, the wolf lunged at her, wrapping its powerful jaws around her body. It picked her up and started dragging her away, out of the room and through the winding corridors of the castle. Amelia fought back, but the wolf had a firm grip on her.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the wolf stopped, and Amelia saw that they had arrived in a large clearing. In the center of the clearing was a tall wooden structure – a gallows, Amelia realized with horror.
